This is a journal of the visual and photographic astronomical observations of Jim Johnson.
During the spring of 2021 I mentioned to Doug that I knew of two people, who had witnessed the same Aurora Borealis from Maryland in October of 2003. Doug recalled seeing aurora on about those same dates. He confirmed the dates by checking his observing journal. As I was starting to get very serious at about this time, I was very impressed that he had so carefully documented his observations, and I resolved to start documenting my observations as well.
I began to document my observations in emails to Doug starting in August, 2021, and posting of most images to Flickr. These reports are available from the by-year links listed below.
